Cold Chain Logistics Training on Meat Products and Visits to Cold Storage

Bogor-FLPI together with Faculty of Animal Science (FAS) IPB and the Indonesian Cooling Chain Association (ARPI) held Cold Chain Logistics Training on Meat Products and Visits to Cold Storage. This activity lasts for two days on 21-22 February 2019.

The first day of activity on Thursday, February 21, 2019 was held in the Faculty of Animal Science Meeting Room of IPB, Darmaga Campus of IPB University. The training was opened by Dr.Rudi Afnan, SPt, MScAgr as Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Animal Science IPB. "This training aims to build human resource capacity related to the application of cold chains to beef and poultry products that are expected to provide education to multi-stakeholders", explained Rudi.

The training material was held from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. which consisted of four material sessions, each of which was followed by discussion. In the first session about logistics and beef supply chain management. This material was conveyed by Mrs. Prof. Dr. Irma Isnafia Arief, SPt, MSi as Chair of the IPTP Department, Faculty of Animal Science IPB. The second session was about logistics and supply chain management for poultry meat. This material was delivered by Mr. Sudarno as Head Logistics at PT Sierad Produce Indonesia, Tbk. The third session on Cold Chain Logistics for Meat Products in Indonesia, both raw materials and finished goods. This material was delivered by Mrs. Irene Natasha as General Manager of PT Adib Logistics Indonesia replacing her husband, Mr Jimmi Krismiadhi who was unable to attend. The fourth session on halal logistics in the cold chain. This material was delivered by Mr. Raden Didiet Rachmat Hidayat, MSi from Institute of Transportation and Logistics Trisakti University.

The activity on the second day was a visit along with a discussion at PT Adib Cold Logistics Indonesia in Narogong, Bekasi which was a member of ARPI. The visit was opened by Mr. Eki Kurniawan as Managing Director of PT Adib Logistics Indonesia, which has now carried out joint ventures to become part of the family of PT Samudera Indonesia and JWD.

The training activities were followed enthusiastically by 25 participants from multistakeholders (academics, business, government and community) from various regions of Indonesia. This activity took place smoothly also with the support of cooperation with Infovet magazine, Indonesian Food Review and Agropustaka.id as the media partner.
